First Blog - Louisa has arrived in Mexico City
Hola Amigos,
After a long flight to Mexico City, we have finally made it! Today was our second day exploring the beautiful churches in Puebla, Mexico. First, we visited Santa Maria Chapel in Puebla. It was absolutely spectacular!!! The walls, roof and altar were handmade out of over 1000 faces of angels and saints. Below are some photos that I was able to capture- however, the photos don’t do any justice. Then, we met our tour guides and they took us to eat some authentic Mexican food- I ate beef tacos! After that, we climbed The Great Pyramid of Cholula- a huge complex located in Puebla. It is the largest archaeological site of a pyramid, as well as the largest pyramid known to exist in the world today. It took us 35 minutes to climb the steep stairs to reach the top of the pyramid with its famous church- Our Lady of Remedies. Finally, we ate dinner at a rooftop restaurant with the views of St Augustine Cathedral.
